Walking into Rick’s Cabaret reminded me of walking into a high school dance. I could hear the music pounding, but all I could see was a long hallway seemingly leading nowhere. The anticipation of what lay ahead filled me with excitement. At the end of the hallway, there was a lounge with a stage and tons of small, round tables and cozy chairs. My boyfriend and I wanted to be where the action was, so we sat right next to the pole, in front of the main stage. For a while we played “real or fake tits,” but as it turned out they were all fake.
A pretty bartender in a lovely corset took our drink orders while we sat back, relaxed, and took in the scenery. Dozens of girls were milling around the bar, talking to each other, as well as the patrons. A few were engaged in lap dances ($20 a dance). One girl was rocking the pole while another was strutting her stuff on the main stage.
After a drink, we decided to explore the rest of the club. A staircase to the left of the main stage led to a dining room. The menu consisted of fairly typical steakhouse fare, with steaks ranging from $38 to $42. Feeling thirsty? A bottle of Absolut will set you back $235. If you’re seeking a bargain, come at lunch for the $10 lunch special.
Want some “alone time” with an entertainer? Bring her to one of the five private dining areas on the second floor. The privilege will cost you $400 (plus a $200 an hour room rental fee). At lunchtime, the price goes down considerably: it’s only $150 (including the room rental fee) for 15 minutes.
The girls were diverse and pretty, although many of them were far from superb dancers. And throughout the evening, only one approached us with the offer of a lap dance.
Overall, Rick’s is swanky, clean, and well-maintained plus the management is enthusiastic, professional, and very friendly.
For a relaxing night with a bevy of ladies clad in a G-string, Rick’s is the perfect choice.
