  • If you don't live in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, you may not know about Littlefield, a hip performance/art space conveniently located across the street from Brooklyn Boulders. After a few hours of climbing at Brooklyn Boulders, hanging out at Littlefield could provide the perfect respite. Whether you're looking for relaxation or a night out in a cool space, this club/lounge/gallery offers it all in a 6200-square foot 1920s warehouse. Some original industrial details remain, but new "green" features have been added - landscaped interior courtyard, walls made from recycled rubber tires, and a bar built from salvaged bowling alley lanes. Other sustainable development features include wind-power energy. The overall aesthetic is hip, relaxing and good for the environment.

Check out Littlefield's event schedule; the space features a variety of performance and art shows on any given night - indie rock, hip-hop, dance, soul, jazz, experimental, and reggae music, and art exhibits, literary events and film screenings. The sound system is outstanding. The well-stocked bar is a good match, as well. Littlefield features the work of mixologist,Tona Palomino, of WD-50. For some of us, the word,"mixologist" is just silly and pretentious, but don't dismay; Littlefield is actually a very down-to-earth and inviting space. It reflects a good balance of old and new, just like the redevelopment of the neighboring, Gowanus Canal.
