The Lower East Side continues to rock the NYC nightlife. Even at 1:30 am on a Sunday morning, every bar and club has long lines. No one sleeps anymore, especially on the weekends. I happily discovered that despite crowds inside, the Happy Ending Lounge didn't have a line outside, so my friend and I happily strolled in, cleared by the friendly bouncer. Walking past the wall featuring the words, "Eat Me", we discovered a crowd of happy twenty-somethings drinking and dancing. If you fall into this age group or don't really care if you can't carry on a conversation over the loud music, Happy Ending Lounge is fun. It's been around for some time, so the rest of New York clearly agrees. My friend and I did our best to find a less crowded and quieter spot, and actually succeeded when we discovered a back room downstairs with cushy seats and a couple grinding in the dark alcove. As a former massage parlor, Happy Ending Lounge fulfills on the promise of at least seeing some erotic play in action, even if you can't pay for it anymore.
