Is he romantic or just controlling?

Send to a Friend

Dear Erotic New York:

I was recently introduced, via email, to a guy by a mutual friend. He lives in Europe but wants to move to New York. We’ve emailed a few months and spoke on the phone twice. He recently sent me an email announcing that he is coming to visit me in New York and wants to spend all his time with me. The problem is that he didn’t consult me on the dates and already booked the trip, expecting me to take time off of work to be with him. I’m trying to see the romance in his actions, but don’t you think he should have asked me if these dates were also convenient for me and my busy work schedule? When I expressed my feelings, he told me that he was traveling half way around the planet to see me and that I should appreciate it. What should I do?

Angela

Dear Angela:

Romantic? No. Controlling? Absolutely! What a prick! Someone should get this guy a copy of Miss Manners. Romance is about sweeping you off your feet. This guys sounds like he’s more concerned about pleasing himself, and has shown you no respect or consideration. Tell him to fuck himself.

I agree, Angela-this guy sounds like "Mr. Control Freak" and also "Mr. Inconsiderate".
