The Leatherman, founded by owner Chuck Mueller, opened its doors at this prime Christopher Street location in 1965-way back when the street was still a ghetto. The cute, knowledgeable sales associate let on that The Leatherman's leather pants, the best of which run around $395, have definitely hugged the asses of some A-list celebrities, but he would only mention Lou Reed and Andy Warhol by name. Of the non-leather items, we were partial to the "cum rag" ($11) and the coded, colored handkerchiefs ($3.50 each).
