Considered one of NYC most romantic restaurants since 2004, Les Jardin Bistro still delivers, especially if you're looking for a romantic and inexpensive date restaurant in Noho. In warmer weather, the outdoor garden space offers a great retreat from the urban rush. In cold weather, the interior dining room is classic French bistro - simple and rustic, just like the menu. For finer French bistro dining, there is Balthazar, but, sometimes, you just don't want to deal with the velvet rope attitude, steep prices and hour long (or more) wait at the bar for a table. Sometimes, you just want to call a restaurant an hour before dinner or show up and get a table without hassle. At Les Jardin Bistro, you can do that and be greeted with smiles from the friendly staff. As this is a French bistro, my favorites are the French onion soup (good enough to warm the chill from your bones on cold days) and the mussels in white wine sauce. The mussels are great to share, especially with pieces of bread soaked in sauce. My boyfriend and I love to feed each other morsels of sauce-rich bread. For some visual foreplay, go to nearby Obivia for drinks after dinner. There's nothing like watching classic 80s porn on Obivia's five LCD screens to ignite the sexual senses.
