• This truly fun restaurant is run by authentically French, authentically cool, and authentically friendly people. The food is more North African than traditional French but is always original, and the prices are fair. The lamb shank and Koroghofefemugu (shell steak) are big favorites for carnivores, and the couscous is always a solid choice for the vegans in the group.
  
  But the food is only one reason to make your way down to this lower-Lower East Side institution. The party atmosphere, particularly on the weekends, is the real driver. A DJ sets up shop on the bar and spins solid urban beats while revelers at tables drink and eat in delight. If you're really lucky, you may even see some aisle dancing by the waitstaff while delivering food or beverages.
  
  Les Enfant is a quintessential New York date venue. The small setting and cramped aisles give it an intimate feeling, and the dim lights always set the mood. The 1920s style half-naked woman on the menu adds more context to the night.
  
  Whether on a first date or simply having dinner out with your significant other, Les Enfant is a solid choice to get the night off in the right direction.

Anthony I've been here so many times, I kind of sick of the menu. I don't think it's changed since the place opened. However that is my only complaint. The wait staff is great, the atmosphere is terrific, and despite my gripe, the food is always very well prepared.
