If heaven were a comic book store, it would be Jim Hanley's Universe. Jim Hanley's Universe has one of the most extensive comic titles in NYC, including DC, Marvel, manga, and graphic novels, and lots of related toys and figures in an expansive space in midtown Manhattan. However, since this is EroticNewYork.com, and we went looking for erotic comics, we were thrilled to find that its erotic selection is also one of the best and most extensive in NYC.
Jim Hanley's Universe believes that comic books are an art form, and this is very evident in their erotic comics section. Jim Hanley's Universe offers beautiful, and, of course, raunchy artwork from fetish comics to their bestseller - banana games. Every possible erotic comic title is available here, including vintage erotic comics. I find erotic comics more steamy and titillating than mainstream porn which has become more plastic - in every sense - over the years. Erotic comics offer the fantasy as well as the smut. Be prepared to peruse for hours to soak in the vast selection, especially to get a better sense of what might turn you on. In fact, did you know that Joe Shuster, one of the creators of Superman, also created fetish art? Sadly, I missed the book signing for Craig Yoe's new book, "Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman's Co-Creator Joe Shuster", but I'm thrilled that someone as talented and as famous as Joe Shuster had a fetish side. Yoe's book even offers an introduction by Stan Lee, another master of the comic book universe. For fans of erotica who aren't familiar with Jim Hanley's Universe, you will be exposed to a whole new world of erotica through erotic comics; if you're already an erotic comics connoisseur, no doubt you already know about and love Jim Hanley's Universe.
