• “Shaken and Stirred” is a weekly burlesque show performed by the very talented Sugar Shack Burlesque group. The Sugar Shack is a relatively new group formed by Legs Malone and Runaround Sue. Malone and Runaround Sue put together a show that combines modern edginess and old-world charm. The show titillates in a sexy and wholesome way. The Sugar Shack Burlesque is a mixture of traditional striptease performed by attractive and good-humored dancers and singers. The performers seem genuinely happy to be there, and the audience is quickly caught up in the fun.
  
  The show, which lasts a bit more than one hour, features singing and dancing. The audience is a mix of gay and straight New Yorkers with some tourists in the mix. Everyone is at risk for being asked to participate on stage in the show.
  
  One of the more impressive aspects of Sugar Shack Burlesque is the founders' recognition that the allure of burlesque is not limited to any one body type but can be generated by many types of real women with unique personalities and different body sizes. Also, as a venue for Sugar Shack Burlesque, the Delancey is wonderful. It is a three-level facility with a rooftop bar, basement where various rock bands perform on any given night and a comfortable street level bar with stage area -home of the Sugar Shack Burlesque. The Delancy’s staff made us feel right at home. Drinks are reasonably priced. Even Grandma Edna might kick up her feet and enjoy the show.

beobackter The atmosphere was quite innocent and good natured. The bartender was nice. Only problem I found was that they do not serve real food. But the atmosphere and warmth more than made up for that. Avanti!
