DA Photography's website encourages customers to visit them and "take home something beautiful." I did just that. My photos were stunning, if I may say so myself. I even sent a couple to my mom.
Delta Hunter is D A Photography. She is the designer and photographer and works out of a home-based studio. When I first contacted her, she suggested we meet in a café to get to know each other and discuss the theme of the portraits in a comfortable (i.e., clothed) situation. Unfortunately our schedules didn't mesh, but we were in contact via email and phone so many times before the studio session that when I finally met her I was completely at ease.
Knowing that Delta's goal is to "capture the sensual and erotic nature" of her subjects, I pictured myself in slinky slips and corsets, posing with my fingers in my mouth and glaring at the camera, a la some trashy car magazine. But, fortunately for me, Delta had other ideas.
There was a mattress on the floor draped with a beautiful glossy green fabric. She picked through my lingerie to find a pair of silk blue panties that she thought would look good with the fabric on the bed. Delta showed me a couple of shots she'd taken with a previous model to illustrate the lighting and composition she was going for, then directed me to the bed. "If you're doing these pictures for a lover, do what you think they'd like. If you're doing this for yourself, do whatever you do alone" was all the direction she offered at first, and apparently all I needed. Occasionally she'd tell me to arch my back more, take off the panties, look at the camera or move more into the light, but for the most part I had free reign to pose and play. After a while, she changed the set completely and brought out a few props such as pearls and a chair. The entire shoot lasted about two hours.
A week later, Delta set up a private website for me to view 47 of the best photos. I wasn't disappointed. The shots are artistic, beautiful, and intriguing.
These pictures will not replace the whiskey-induced Polaroids you posed for the last time you and your lover played Truth or Dare. But they will leave you with a greater appreciation for your body. And the next time you masturbate, you'll know that you could be posing for a work of art.
