- If you are looking to meet straight, single men in NYC, you have to think like a straight, single man looking to meet you. Where would he go? Would he take a cooking class at the Institute of Culinary Education? The answer is NO! Don't get me wrong; I know this to be true only after taking two sushi making classes, a french dinner party class, and a Mediterranean food and wine pairings class. I loved each of these classes, learned a lot, had a great time with my friends, and loved eating (and drinking) our cooking with the instructor at the end of the class. The instructors are friendly and experienced chefs. Overall, each class was worth my time and money, but this is not the place to meet men. If you're a single straight man reading this, however, this is exactly where you should go to meet single women! Classes are mostly single women in groups of friends, and couples - gay and straight. So, for all the single ladies out there, next time you sign up for a class at ICE, you'll meet some lovely people, but check out the Sexy Bars/Clubs section to look for a place to go out afterwards. Then, when you bring the guy over for dinner the first time, you'll know how to prepare a kick-ass sushi roll!
